STUCO:You can buy data matches from Mrs West or Mrs Evon before or after school. This Thursday is the last day to buy them.Each data match costs $2

There are boxes in the libraries that you can donate used books to for the Elgin Community Library’s used book sale.  If your family has a bunch of books to donate let Mrs. Evon know and we can arrange for someone to pick them up.  


FCA: Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be every Thursday morning from 7:50 - 8:10 we will meet in the band room in the 6th grade building. This is for EVERYONE, not just athletes. We will fellowship together and do devotionals.


NJHS: Chick Fil A Mondays - 7th and 8th grade - Pre-order you Chick Fil A Sandwiches with Mrs. Ezell or Mrs. Bridges by noon on Fridays!

Permission slips are due for the crossings Scholastic meet.  If you have a permission slip please turn it in today the roster is being finalized for this tournament.  If you did not receive a permission slip and would like to participate see Mrs. Brierton today to see what tests are available.

February 24th: Mathcounts Regional @ Great Plains Career Tech Lawton

February 27th: 6th-8th grade Crossings Scholastic Meet in OKC (space is limited)

March 3rd:  State Mathcounts Competition @ OU - Norman(based on results from February 24th)

March 9, 14, 16, 21, 23: 6th-8th grade Online Scholastic Tourn. Here @ EMS (open to all students)


Yearbook:  The basic yearbook order is due March 6th. Orders need to be turned into Mrs.Bucher in the 7th & 8th grade building before those dates.

8th Grade Advertisements: 8th Grade ad space in the yearbook is available for purchase. Go to www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter order number 16677 to get started. Ad orders are due Feb. 28.               

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:  

  • Picture packets are due on Wednesday the 21st . Please turn your order in to your Geography/History teacher. Teachers once all are collected please send them to 7/8th office.

  • From Mrs. Hitt: Ladies, as the weather starts to get warmer please remember the dress code rules that apply to shorts. Your shorts must be school appropriate, if you are told not to wear a certain pair of shorts back to school, do not wear them. After one warning you will be assigned detention. Wearing holes in your pants above your knees has also become a problem, please make sure any holes in your pants are at the knee or below.  Thank you to the two young ladies who brought this to my attention last Thursday, I appreciate knowing that you want to wear school appropriate clothing:)


MATH TUTORING -- 3:30-4:30 pm: students will need to be picked up at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday - Mrs. Duncan - room 10 in the 5th grade building

Wednesday - Mrs. Ryswyk 6th grade building room 1

Thursday - Mrs. Davidson - room 14 in the ⅞ grade building.


DAILY REMINDERS

  • Please make sure you are walking in the halls, using your inside voices, keeping your hands to yourself, and being kind.  Keep our halls clear of backpacks and books. We DO NOT play games that are not being supervised by a coach or teacher. Doing so will result in detention. Please do not wear “heelies” to school.

  • No charging in the cafeteria.

  • If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get the work you missed completed and turned in to your teacher.

  • No cell Phones/headphones in the halls
